
Mr. Phillips has been practicing law continuously since 1973. He is a graduate of Kent State University, (BA 1970,) and the University of Akron School of Law, (JD 1973). In 1992 he became a founding attorney of the law firm Phillips & Mille Co., LPA . He is licensed to practice law in Ohio, Hawaii and Washington, as well as the United States Supreme Court, the 6th Circuit US Court of Appeals and the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. He served as a member of the Ohio Board of Bar Examiners for a period of five years. In addition to representing clients, Mr. Phillips has over the years been a lecturer to other attorneys in numerous Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs as well as other non lawyer programs.
Served as Special Counsel for the Ohio Attorney General for the period 2004 – 2012.
During that time as Special Counsel, thousands of cases were handled on behalf of the State of Ohio.
Nick especially enjoys resolving complex medical injury cases caused by anyone negligently causing personal injury to one of our clients. Satisfactorily resolving these cases and recovering just compensation for his clients represents the major focus of his practice.
Retiring as a Colonel from the United Stated Air Force Reserve, he served over thiry one years as an Air Force Judge Advocate, (JAG). And served the Air Force across the United States including years in the Pentagon in Washington D.C.
Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Phillips is a licensed pilot, offering his clients unique insights into aviation-related legal matters. He assists with aircraft transactions and navigates FAA enforcement and medical issues, leveraging his experience as an FAA-licensed pilot to
represent pilots and aircraft owners effectively. Serve on the Aircraft Ovmers and Pilots Association, (AOPA) Legal Panel.
ln serving his community, Mr. Phillips served on the North Royalton Board of Education, as the City Law Director, as a volunteer Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court Magistrate, president of the Parma Bar Association, president of the North Royalton Alumni Association, president of the North Royalton Chamber of Commerce and many other community organizations over these many years. He was also the founder and leader of the North Royalton Community Emergency Response Team, (CERT) for over 23 years. He has also continues to serve his alma mater, Kent State University, as a member of the KSU College of Arts and Science Leadership Council.
Over his fifty plus year career as a practicing attorney, he has tried numerous cases in many jurisdictions and has successfully represented thousands of clients over the years. He is nationally board certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, (NBTA,) and is nationally recognized as a Senior Specialist. Recognized by Thompson Reuters Super Lawyers for 21 years.

We welcome a client presenting us their problem to us and determining what type of case they have. Mr. Phillips has extensive medical case experience and prefers injury case and a most interesting subject area.
Knowing that every case is unique, Mr. Phillips follows his curiosity and continues to ask questions about the legal problem and investigates the facts of the case and the client’s goals. He will then analyze the facts and the claim then set out a course of legal action that is best suited for the client. This is all done with consultation with the client.
Years of handling many cases over the years and satisfactorily resolving them has resulted in using a process that is efficient and complete. We still follow the same process, updating as necessary.
The main areas of experience is handling serious injury cases. These cases over the years have produced large settlements for our clients. There were a number of seven digit settlements obtained over the years and are determined by the facts of a specific case.
