Biography

Gwen Perry is an associate in our Elder Law Department and practices out of our Medina and Middleburg Heights offices.  Gwen is a Certified Elder Law Attorney through the National Elder Law Foundation, which is the only certification accredited by both the American Bar Association and the Supreme Court of Ohio Commission on Certification of Attorneys as Specialists. Of the approximately 38,000 attorneys in Ohio, only 32 are Certified Elder Law Attorneys.

Gwen focuses her practice on providing advice and assistance with long-term care and Medicaid planning to clients dealing with transitional living for themselves or a loved one, including nursing home or assisted living placement. She strives to educate her clients about their options while addressing their financial and emotional fears, because although Medicaid law is a complicated practice area, she believes that a basic understanding about the Medicaid system helps alleviate clients’ misconceptions and allows them to make sounder decisions. In addition, Gwen helps families establish comprehensive estate plans focused on probate avoidance and simplicity of management. Where necessary, she helps clients manage probate estates, trust settlements and guardianships in a timely, efficient manner.
